I always find it interesting that Esker and Riebeck are the Hearthians playing the main melody of "Travelers". Of all the astronauts, they seem to be the only ones who haven't achieved their dreams, or lost their purpose along the way. Riebeck never got to visit the Hanging City like they always wanted to, and Esker was left alone at the Lunar Outpost and slowly forgotten. Meanwhile, Feldspar was able to have bold and daring adventures, Chert was able to study the stars and make scientific observations, and Gabbro found peace and relaxation on their travels. In this song, no one is left behind, not even those who didn't have enough time at the end of a dying universe. Maybe at this campfire, they found everything they needed.
